I love this concept, so I wish I saw it in practice in action myself more often. It's on one of the trello cards, but I forget where. (lava lizards, river prowlers, stalkers, etc.) But there are so many lava lizards in the lava zone that the sea dragon prefers to munch on them instead of you. They are all made to attack "shark" type creatures. Originally posted by PrehistoricLife:Another wierd thing about leviathans. Boy they sure are taking a while to chew on me." It's like a jump scare, but they forgot the loud noise. But I was to distracted by the obvious bugs to be scared I almost died. My first encounter with a reaper was with one legitimatly (probably?) sneaking up behind my seamoth and grabbing it while I was in it. Though at least these days, the "Built a scan room? SILENT REAPERS!" bug isn't really a thing anymore. And watching them from a safe distance when you got the chance just further drives home how obviously glitchy they are. It's not the sort of thing you can just play off as "Learn situational awarness, LOL!" either when that awareness means you've accidentally ended up in a Tremors movie with tunneling creatures, rather than a sea monster movie. For such a stand out predator in the game, first impressions will be very important. Because I'd hate to assume it would be just left in that state.Īs much due to the fact stuff like No-clip and teleportationt still being in game even as of Mid June won't be very good press for launch. Hopefully I simply overlooked them stating it's also on the big to do list of things to fix before launch. So far I've not seen much talk about fixing so much as several posts about "That's just how the terrain physics work, sorry" over time. What priority is being given to fixing the reaper leviathan terrain clipping glitch? Having such a dangerous creature (and others) abusing terrain like this is a rather non-trivial issue in my mind. Originally posted by DOLTBraidedheadman:(also by way of TL DR): However, as the Reaper clipping issue has persisted for as long as it has, my question is simply this, That's obviously me just being a little raw about the whole thing and, really, I'm not all that steamed about it since this game is still very much WIP and all that. But this is perhaps the first time where I feel like the game went out of its way, literally, to cheat me out of a good experience. I've seen my fair share of glitches, including this clipping issue, and I've dealt with all of them in stride. Part of the reason I fired it up again after a lengthy hiatus (so that things didn't get stale on me before release) is that we're reportedly nearing the final stages of this game's pre-release development and I wanted to to see where we're at and maybe lend a hand again by contributing bug reports or other odds and sods and whatnot. Now, I really do love this game, I've been following it for years. But this time it's different and far more costly. They've grabbed me like this before while exploring near the Aurora wreck and I've lost items/progress as a result. Then I saw it clipping through the terrain straight for where I had parked my seamoth, munch it down to a smouldering ruin, and disappear back into the terrain again. "No worries," I think to myself, " We're safe up here in the kelp, my ride is back there in the shallows let the grumpy wyrm roar!" Now, I know good and well that Reaper Leviathans like to lurk in the deeper waters beyond, so I parked my seamoth in what I thought should have been a safe spot in the Safe Shallows, say, ~100 or so meters from the hull of the Aurora itself (eyeballing it).Īnyway, I'm going about my business when I hear the telltale audible cues that a leviathan is nearby. So, I was busy outside, collecting metal salvage and other goodies and I guess I had wandered close to where the Safe Shallows and Kelp Forest borders with the Aurora crash site, toward the stern of the ship.
